Quick verdict

Honor Magic9 Super Edition Review and Verdict

This is the Magic9 for people who play games for hours and hate charging. An 11000mAh cell in an 8.1mm body is remarkable, and the built-in fan should keep frame rates steady during long sessions. It inherits the bright display, 80W charging and IP69K protection of its siblings at a lower price. The trade-off is the camera: it drops the ARRI dual-200MP setup for a more ordinary 50MP telephoto and 12MP ultrawide, and its imaging extras are limited. Availability is also restricted to China.

Best For

  • Gamers who play for hours at a time
  • Anyone needing two days between charges
  • Buyers who want flagship speed at a lower price
  • People who watch lots of video on a large screen
  • Anyone who rarely uses advanced camera features

Think Twice If

  • Camera quality is your top priority
  • You want ARRI video features
  • You need a 1TB storage option
  • You dislike a fan inside your phone
  • You need international software and warranty
